A celebration of the history of Watford Football Club through collections and exhibitions of memorabilia and memories
Goal-den Years, 1996-2001: Memories:
"Attention to detail"
By Jenine Langrish
We won a VIP day-out which included a stadium tour for the last normal home league match of the season in May 9th 1999 against Grimsby, which we needed to win to make it into the playoffs.
Despite the importance of this match, we were amazed during the tour to see Graham taking time out to personally brief the stewards ahead of the match, and also to hear him asking them to make it a great day for Grimsby fans too.
This shows his attention to detail, as well as his concern for all those who worked for the club & to make WFC a friendly place.
